It All Started in 1969
AAA Roofing began with Gene "Grandpa" Gannon, who moved his family to Des Moines in 1966 to manage the local branch of Becker Roofing Company. While working there, Gene saw an opportunity to take on the smaller residential roofing jobs others often passed over. Along with partner Gary Timmons, he started AAA Roofing as a side business from the family home near Waukee.
The name was chosen with a little practical wisdom: Gene wanted the company to appear near the top of the Yellow Pages. When "AA" was already taken, they added one more "A"—and AAA Roofing was born.
After Becker Roofing closed, Gene purchased equipment and materials from the company and officially incorporated AAA Roofing in 1969. With help from former Becker employees, family members, and a growing team of hardworking local roofers, AAA Roofing quickly became a trusted name for residential roofing throughout Des Moines and Central Iowa.
As the company grew, Gene's son, Brad Gannon, joined the business full-time after graduating high school and eventually took over leadership in the mid-1980s. For more than 40 years, Brad dedicated his career to growing AAA Roofing while preserving the family's reputation for honest work, quality craftsmanship, and treating every customer's home with care. His leadership laid the foundation for the third generation of the Gannon family to carry the business forward today.
From those humble beginnings, AAA Roofing has remained rooted in the same family values that have guided the company for more than five decades: integrity, craftsmanship, commitment, and doing the job right.

Meet the Team
Mike Gannon
Hello, I’m Mike Gannon, President of AAA Roofing. Roofing has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My grandfather founded AAA Roofing in 1969 and later opened a local roofing supply company, all before I was born. Some of my earliest memories are of spending Saturdays at the shop with my dad, learning the business from the ground up.
Like many of my cousins, I started at the bottom—picking up nails in the parking lot for a nickel each. From there, I worked my way through nearly every aspect of the company, spending summers during high school tearing off and installing roofs and gaining hands-on experience in every part of the trade. I’ve been with AAA Roofing full-time since 2003, and those experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the craftsmanship, hard work, and customer service that have been the foundation of our company for generations.
Today, I’m proud to carry on the family tradition as President of AAA Roofing. I genuinely enjoy helping customers protect their homes and businesses, and I remain committed to the values that have guided our company since 1969: quality workmanship, honesty, and treating every customer like family.
Outside of work, I’m happily married to my beautiful wife, Billi Jo. We’ve been blessed with two incredible daughters—affectionately known as Princess #1 and Princess #2—who are growing into remarkable young women. Princess #1 recently moved into her own place, where she enjoys life with her cat and two bearded dragons. Back at home in Beaverdale, Princess #2 keeps us busy traveling to and cheering her on at competitive gymnastics events. Along with our two dogs and a leopard gecko, there’s never a dull moment around the Gannon household.
When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me spending time with family or chasing golf balls and 3-putting my way around a local golf course.

Ryan Gannon
Hello, my name is Ryan Gannon, and I am a Co-Owner of AAA Roofing. I have worked full-time with AAA Roofing since 2003, but my connection to the company goes back much further. Growing up, I spent my summer breaks working alongside the crews, learning the roofing industry from the ground up. My father ran AAA Roofing for many years, so the business has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember.
Today, I focus on sales, estimating, and the day to day operations of the company. I take pride in helping homeowners understand their roofing needs and find the best solutions for their projects.
Outside of work, I am happily married to my wife, Emily, and we are blessed with three children. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and taking my kids fishing.
I look forward to helping you with any roofing questions or concerns and providing the honest guidance and quality service that AAA Roofing has built its reputation on for generations.
Jeremy Gannon
My name is Jeremy Gannon, and l am a third-generation owner of AAA Roofing. I began working with the company at a young age, taking on various responsibilities around the office and gaining firsthand experience in the business.
Since joining AAA Roofing full-time in 2011, I have dedicated myself to providing quality service and continuous improvement. Today, I oversee the repair division while serving as Co-Owner and Vice President, where I focus on delivering dependable roofing solutions and maintaining the high standards our customers have come to expect.
Outside of work, I value spending time with my daughter and our dog.
